Why is relaxation so important?

The pace of life these days can seem very fastSo many of us are feeling the pressure of having too much to do in too little time.  Our senses are continually being bombarded by technology – tv, radio, social media, and we struggle with increasing traffic jams, commuting on crowded public transport and with the burden of  either overwork in noisy open-plan offices or isolation from working at home.  All these things build up stress and pressure and can be a major cause of ill health.

We so often feel the need just to ‘get off the merry-go-round’ but we can’t take holidays all the time.  Relaxation sessions offer the opportunity to let go of the worries and strains of daily life in an easy, enjoyable way. They can help deal with anxiety, depression and insomnia and also lower blood pressure.

In my relaxation session, all you have to do is lie down under a soft blanket and just listen to my voice guiding you through a gentle muscle relaxation technique followed by a guided visualisation and accompanied by soothing music.  Afterwards you will feel calm, soothed and at peace with the world!

I thave taught relaxation sessions at The East Sussex National Health Club, and have also taught for the Yoga Society at Sussex University.  I am able to offer one-to-one sessions and half-day workshops which can include an introduction to meditation, or sessions via zoom.

“During the year and a half or so since I started Deep Relaxation classes I have come to rely on the calming weekly sessions.  Jane has a wonderful way of enabling one not only to totally relax but to somehow understand more about oneself and to realise the importance of making ‘me’ time to reflect and recharge.  I thoroughly recommend giving it a try!”
